European 4 in 1 i among the easiest weaves to do. If you’re just getting into chain mail i would start with this on.

I am using the Low carbon steel 15ga 3/8 OD ring for this.

To start take four rings and close them and then opening a fifth.

next place the 4 closed rings on the open ring

Close the ring and lay it so it looks like this.

Now add another ring so it loops into two rings

at this point the rings may want to move around an make what looks like a chain. don’t worry about this once we get a few more rings on it won’t do this anymore.

Now add two more rings to the ring we just added.

Now we’re going to add a few more rows.
A row are rings that lay in the same direction. Our rows are going up and down the screen right now.
People tend to have the rows horizontal. You can orientate your rows however you want.

Now it’s starting to look like a piece of chainmail.

We’re going to add more length to the rows now. I like to take the length to what i need it to then add more rows as i find adding length more work then making rows.

Congratulations! You’ve just made your first piece of chainmail. From here the addiction only worsens lol.
